Practice portfolio thinking. Keep your data yours.

Asset Trainer is a local-only multi-asset training simulator — stocks, ETFs, crypto, real estate, cash, and debt. This is the help & support hub: answers, privacy details, and a direct line to the developer.

No account, no cloud, no analytics — your portfolio never leaves the device.

What the app does

A full portfolio, derived from one honest ledger.

Every position, balance, and report is computed from the transactions you record — nothing is guessed for you.

Transactions as truth

Thirteen transaction types feed positions, cost basis, cash, net worth, allocation, and risk — all derived, never hand-set.

Real estate & debt

Model properties, rent, expenses, and mortgages with amortization schedules, payoff planning, and equity tracking.

Risk as observation

Concentration, leverage, liquidity, and low-cash warnings are phrased as observations about your data — never as advice.

Reports & journal

Monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports generated on device — exportable as TXT or XLSX — plus a decision journal.

Resilient market data

Read-only prices with automatic failover — Yahoo, Tencent, Eastmoney, Sina, Coinbase, OKX, optional Alpaca — working even on mainland-China networks.

Six languages

English, Español, 简体中文, and 繁體中文 for 台灣 · 香港 · 澳門 — switchable in the app.

Private by design

The developer collects nothing.

There is no account system, no server, and no analytics. Everything you enter lives in a local database on your device.

0

Bytes of portfolio data sent

Your transactions, balances, and notes never leave the device.

Only ticker symbols travel

To fetch prices, the app sends just symbols like “AAPL” or “BTC” to market-data providers.

No ads or trackers

No advertising identifier, no third-party analytics SDKs, no fingerprinting.

You hold the off switch

Clear all data or delete the app to remove everything — there is no copy to ask anyone to delete.

Help & answers

Frequently asked questions

Where is my data stored, and is it backed up to a cloud?
Everything you enter is stored in a local SQLite database inside the app on your device. There is no cloud sync and no developer server. Backups exist only if you create them yourself — through your own device backups or by using the in-app export to a zip/CSV file. You are in full control of those copies.
Can Asset Trainer place real trades or connect to my brokerage?
No. The app can reach third-party endpoints only to retrieve read-only market prices. It cannot place, route, or execute real orders, and it never connects to trade. It is a training simulator, not a brokerage.
Is anything in the app financial advice?
No. Risk warnings, reports, scores, charts, trade previews, and journal prompts are all descriptive observations about the data you entered — never recommendations to buy, sell, or hold. Always do your own research and consider a licensed professional before any real-world decision.
Which market-data sources does it use, and what gets sent?
Prices come from public sources with an ordered failover chain — Yahoo Finance, Tencent, Eastmoney, and Sina for stocks; Coinbase, OKX, and Sina for crypto — plus an optional Alpaca key for real-time US quotes. Only the ticker symbols of the assets you track are ever transmitted. The chain is designed to keep working even where some sources are unreachable, including mainland-China networks.
How do I export or back up my data?
Open More ▸ Import/Export. You can create a full-data zip backup, export CSV, and export reports as TXT or XLSX. The database is also visible to the Files app. Keep these backups somewhere safe — since the developer holds no copy, they are your only recovery path.
How do I delete my data?
You can delete individual assets and their history under Settings ▸ Data Management, erase everything with “Clear All Data…”, or simply delete the app, which removes the local database entirely. Because nothing is stored off-device, there is nothing left elsewhere to remove.
What asset and transaction types are supported?
Asset types: stocks, ETFs, crypto, real estate, cash, debt, and custom. Transactions include deposits and withdrawals, buys and sells, property events (add, revalue, rent, expense, mortgage, sale), debt events (add, pay), and manual adjustments — thirteen types in total.
What languages does the app support?
English, Español, 简体中文 (Simplified Chinese), and 繁體中文 (Traditional Chinese) for Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. Report documents stay in English by design; the live interface is fully localized.
I found a bug or have a feature request. What should I do?
