Asset Trainer is a training tool only. It is not a brokerage, provides no financial advice, and cannot place real orders.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Asset Trainer ("the app") and include the disclaimer provisions below. By using the app you agree to them in full. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Purpose — a Training Tool Only

The app is a personal portfolio training simulator. It exists to help you practice asset-allocation thinking and keep a record of your reasoning. It is not a brokerage. It may connect to third-party endpoints — including ones operated by exchanges or brokerages — only to retrieve read-only market data; it cannot place, route, or execute real orders and never connects to trade.

3. Not Financial Advice

Nothing in this app — including risk observations, reports, scores, charts, trade previews, journal prompts, or any other output — is financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice, or a recommendation or solicitation to buy, sell, or hold any asset. Risk warnings are descriptive observations about the data you entered, not guidance.

4. No Professional Relationship

Using the app does not create an advisory, fiduciary, brokerage, or any other professional relationship with its author or contributors. The author is not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, or tax professional.

5. License

You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not sell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute the app or present its output as professional advice to others.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the app only as permitted by applicable law. Where the app retrieves market data from third-party sources, your use of that data is also subject to those parties' terms, and you are responsible for complying with them.

7. Your Data

Everything you enter belongs to you and is stored on this device and in backups or exports you create yourself. There is no account with the author, no cloud service, and no transmission of your transactions, balances, or other portfolio details to the author. To fetch prices, the app sends only the ticker symbols of the assets you track to third-party market-data providers — not your transactions, quantities, balances, or personal information. Any third-party API key you provide for an optional market-data source is stored on this device and sent only to that provider, and you are responsible for your account with them. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter and for safeguarding and backing up your data.

8. Notifications

With your permission, the app can show local notifications on this device — for example when a new periodic report (monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, or annual) has been generated. Notifications are optional: you can decline the permission or turn them off at any time in iOS Settings. They are produced entirely on this device; there is no push service and no server involved.

9. Market Data and Third Parties

Price data may come from publicly available third-party endpoints that can change, break, rate-limit, or disappear at any time. No availability, accuracy, timeliness, or completeness is promised. The app and its author are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any exchange, brokerage, index, or data provider referenced by name or ticker symbol; all trademarks belong to their owners.

10. Calculations and Accuracy

All figures — net worth, returns, allocations, risk measures, amortization schedules, fees, and reports — are approximations computed from data you entered, provided without any guarantee of accuracy or completeness. Always verify against official account statements before relying on a number.

11. Simulated Results

Simulated, hypothetical, or historical results have no bearing on future outcomes. Nothing in this app predicts future prices or performance.

12. Your Decisions Are Your Own

Any real-world financial decision you make is solely your responsibility. Before acting, do your own research and consider consulting a licensed financial, tax, or legal professional in your jurisdiction.

13. Intellectual Property

The app's software, design, and documentation remain the property of the author and are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. Your data remains yours.

14. No Warranty

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

15. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE AUTHOR AND CONTRIBUTORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES — INCLUDING ANY TRADING OR INVESTMENT LOSS, LOSS OF DATA, OR LOSS OF PROFIT — ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE APP, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

16. Indemnity

You agree to hold the author and contributors harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the app, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

17. Changes to These Terms

The Terms may be revised when the app changes. If they change materially, the app will ask you to review and accept the new version before continuing. Continued use after acceptance constitutes agreement.

18. Termination

This license ends automatically if you breach these Terms. You may stop using the app at any time; sections 7 and 13–16 survive termination.

19. Severability and Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. These Terms are the entire agreement regarding the app and are governed by the laws applicable in your place of residence, to the extent not mandatorily superseded.
